Ready To Travel Solo? Vitamin Stree’s Latest Video Is A Guide For The Millennial Indian Woman

Travelling,  that fun thing that keeps us motivated to get through rest of the year. So, it’s no surprise that in the last few years, the number of Indians who want to travel, and travel solo has increased significantly, 75% according to media reports. Maybe it’s the wanderlust-ing millennial generation’s ‘YOLO’ attitude towards travel as essential experiences for self-discovery. Maybe it’s the rise in Indian women’s income levels and financial independence, and increased ownership of their lives. A lot has contributed to the modern Indian woman wanting to explore the world on her own.

But is the world ready for the Solo Indian Woman Traveller?

Well, we believe it is better to be ready for the world.

Every place has its pros and cons, and a little bit of planning goes a long way, especially when travelling alone. Everything from knowing reasons why your Visa could get rejected despite proof of income, dealing with fluctuating currency rates, familiarising yourself with your destination’s cultural etiquettes to the biggest deterrent of all, especially when travelling in India – Safety.  No place is perfect, but setting out to explore the world on your own is thrilling, and the joy of self-discovery is very real too. While more and more countries are acknowledging this rising trend and trying to make things more convenient for the lone female traveller, it is still worth your while to make thorough plans and well in advance, to make sure you don’t face any obstacles on your trip.  Vitamin Stree’s latest video is a guide for all millennial Indian women who are gearing up to travel solo.

Nandini Godara, Writer & Director of the video:“Travelling on your own can be a life-changing experience. And that’s why so many of us are either doing it or intend to do it! But it can also be a challenging experience, more so for women. With this video we just wanted to raise the flag on some of the obstacles Indian millennial women in particular could face. So that the next trip – or the first trip if that’s the case – can go as smoothly as possible!”
