Tell us something about Auburn and hats you wear as an agency?
Auburn is a full service digital marketing agency, spread across Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Toronto. With a team size of more than 50 people, Auburn’s team is hands on managing Search, Social, Programmatic Media Buying and Creative businesses for our clients. Experienced professionals along with Google Premier Partner support and multiple awards across varied brands, makes it one of the stronger independent agency of our times.
The best of roles that you get to do is when you turn entrepreneur. Earlier we were good in what we did, be it, Sales, Business Development or Operations but now we also have to take care of General Management, Finance and Compliance so the hats we wear are innumerable, its just that the role keeps changing as the day progresses and its been an overwhelming experience
How did Auburn happened and how are you different than the competition in India?
Auburn Digital Solutions happened in March 2013, when most of the larger Independent agencies were acquired, we saw that there is an opportunity and requirement of an agency which is independent and could cater to clients which are not comfortable or keen to work with the larger agencies and they wanted more control and accountability over their spends.
We are a very close knit team and we have worked in different capacities to grow Auburn. Luckily we all have different strengths and we complement each other well. We are a team of passionate experienced individuals who came together to set up Auburn. That’s what sets us apart. We are involved in all execution on our client campaign’s and most clients like that we are involved on their digital marketing plans and that’s what makes us stand out for them. All of our clients get to work with one of the most experienced person of the company as their account lead
How is Auburn placed in the digital ecosystem to cater the ever growing demands of brands in India?
With a robust team and partners, we have been able to create a niche for ourselves in the space. Be it Search, Social or any services that’s been offered, we have always looked at working with our clients team as an integral part of their team, which actually helps us get into the details and set up the entire digital marketing process. The most important aspect in digital is tracking and we make sure all the bases are covered. Digital marketing is very dynamic and that’s what keeps us on our toes in terms of implementing and adapting these changes for our clients and employees.
Can you tell us something about Auburn’s expected growth in the next 5 years?
We would like to go with the flow, we did not plan anything when we started, just wanted to go out, get some work and do our best to deliver. Client Satisfaction is one of the important aspect and we take a lot of pride in it. We haven’t thought too far down the line for 5 years, we live by the year, set small goals and try to achieve them and move to new goals and targets. We emphasise on goal attainment that’s what keeps us ticking.
Do you have any plans for international growth?
We have been working in the Canada and have business from SEA that we cater to, although we don’t have a set-up there. Next steps on the same would be as these opportunities start becoming larger we will try and expand to those markets.
A piece of advice you would like to give to fellow Entrepreneurs in India?
Enterpreuners need to understand, its not just about them, its about the team you are creating. Be it co founders or others, all have to be moving in the same direction. Same goal, same vision
One of the most important things we have learnt is “Keeping your word” as an enterpreuner and that’s what we try to follow, irrespective of the repercussions it can have.
