Jury Speak
Sanjay Sindhwani, CEO, Indian Express (Digital)
Being on the jury of 40 under 40 was one of the toughest challenges I faced. The quality of the nominations was excellent. So many of the nominees were so close that the ranking became quite tough and you wanted to be fair to one and all. I would like to say this to all the nominees, that irrespective of whether you are it to the list, you are winners and your work speaks for you.

Walking in the shoes of a Judge is never an easy task
especially when you have to select some of the best minds in the communications
industry and each entry looks as promising as the other one. However, whenever
I sit down and think about judging something or someone, I hold on to my
highest standards of integrity, fairness and objectivity and then start the
process.
For 40 under 40, I made it a point to determine the scores of
each entry independently, based on its own merit and success with achieving its
objectives as outlined in the entry’s Communication Statement and not against
other entries in the category. Consider it an advice but for me, the most important
ingredient for an award entry is that it needs to tell a story. I love to know
what were the ‘real monsters or challenges’ that one needed to overcome, what
did they do to achieve impact, to create something memorable and what did their
work achieved!
All in all, it was a memorable experience being a part of the
esteemed jury for 40 under 40 awards. It not only introduced me to the great
work, the professionals are doing in the communications industry but also
taught me some the finest nuances of judging entries.
Naresh Gupta, CSO & Managing Partner, BITM
I have been blown away by what professionals today are achieving today so early in life. These are super achievers and they are setting the bar very high for others. These are the leaders of tomorrow and the industry is in good hands. The entries were very well put by most. Not just in the way they crafted it, also in the way they told the story. It was a tough task to rate them.
Bindu Balakrishnan, Country Head, DCMN India
Being a jury member for 40 under 40 was a great experience. The entire activity was well managed and executed. The questions posed to the candidates gave a very good insight into their capabilities, skill sets and achievements. This made it easy to evaluate people at multiple levels. The quality of entries was of very high standards. Some of the applicants had really taken time to think about their responses and created a compelling story.
Gaurav Patra, Founder and Director, Value360
It was an exhilarating experience to be on the panel and getting exposed to industry-leading best practices, the innovation and hard labour that went into creating award-winning campaigns and truly inspirational work. It was a pleasant surprise to see industry-leading innovations becoming common practice for quite a few noteworthy campaigns. I believe these are the exciting times for the industry, where people are actively thinking outside the box and coming up with integrated campaigns and aligning new-age digital media with traditional channels.
Lloyd Mathias, Angel Investor, Marketing & Business Strategist
I expect that the 40 under 40 winners go on to greater heights and achieve bigger things. I think Agency Reporter’s 40 under 40 is another endorsement of high achievers under 40, and will serve as another marker of achievement
We again congratulate all our winners who made up to this list! Cheers! 🙂
