Grit & Glory- The Mounting Story of Alex Honnold
When in search of some wise words, we often stumble upon the great quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt- “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Feeling the fear is natural. In fact, to be human requires you to feel fear. However, what is important is to keep yourself in a place where you learn to ride it and continue growing, feeling and ultimately creating.
Following the above thought, National Geographic Channel lived true to its legacy of bringing unparalleled and bold stories on the table, when it premiered one of its most notable documentary films on September 28, Free Solo. It is a riveting story of Alex Honnold, who is on his quest to perform a rope-free climb to Yosemite National Park’s El Capitan.
While the film drove past worry by Alex’s passion and celebrated his superpower, fearlessness, we thought of speaking to some of the spirited personalities from the industry to understand how they embraced fear and came out fear-free.
