McDonald’s experiences 56% store visit lift with mCanvas’ Footfall Attribution solutions

mCanvas has announced the addition of Footfall Attribution – an extension of their comprehensive suite of interactive ad solutions. The measurement solution empowers advertisers to accurately measure the offline impact of their digital campaigns by driving visits to stores, thereby advancing the capabilities of our creative advertising formats.   

According to Forrester Research data and McKinsey analysis, almost 85% sales occurring over-the-counter; this has led brands to demand an uplift in store visits via digital mediums. By employing footfall attribution across channels and devices, brands want to enhance customer experiences, and meticulously measure campaign results, while assuring privacy compliance. Leveraging footfall attribution with mCanvas’ interactive sensors and features,digital campaigns can drive real-life visits to physical stores, restaurants, or retail outlets, utilizing consented location data.

In McDonald’s recent campaign, the brand employed footfall attribution combined with mCanvas’ engaging ad creative, which resulted in over 15,300 customers visits to the stores. Leveraging mCanvas’ footfall measurement provided valuable user insights and facilitated the transition from screens to stores, leading to measurable campaign success, with up to 7.2MN impressions from the ad.

Overall, the campaign witnessed a 56% store visit lift by comparing normalized visit rate of exposed group (who saw the mobile ad) with the normalized visit rate of the control group, derived using lookalike audiences.
