I wake up each day with a feeling that I am a part of something bigger than myself – Pratiksha Prabhu, PHD Media

Tell us about your time as a web developer and now group head.

It has been a wonderful journey so far. Being a B.Sc-IT grad I did not know much of career option other than that of coding and testing. Unlike many IT student, I started out as a developer in a digital agency called Yrals. I mainly developed the UI and UX for a few websites and many Facebook apps-which were so popular back then. Since I developed applications on Facebook. The conversation around me at workplace revolved only about TG, Persona Creation, CPC, CTR, paid, organic, Customised profile pictures and the list goes on……

Who cannot get attracted to this? And since then my journey as media planner started in my next stint at Egg first. Since then I have worked with different agencies like Isobar, Lodestar and now PHD media. On brands like Mattel Toys, Total Lubricants, Remit2India, RBI, GoAir, TOI, Mahindra, HUL, etc. Each time the role was so distinct and with a new challenge, learning the platforms, evolving technologies, and so many new people to meet every day.

Moreover, it feels so privileged to be a planner the success stories of the brands we work on lies in the market/planning efficiencies one gets to the table.

My every stint has propelled my career path. Overall, it has been a great learning and growth experience for me until now and hopes to continue with the same.

 

What is your three major learning working with brands like Go Air, RBI- Reserve Bank of India, Times Of India, Mahindra & Mahindra in your previous job? What’s your current client portfolio like? Do you think it’s a perfect extension to your current set of learnings?

The learning on each of the client has been distinct. Since all their business objectives are not the same. Three major learning which I apply across is.

  • Market Understanding
  • Treating the client business as your own business
  • Immense patience

It’s the perfect extension with the absolute best client one can dream of it’s the FMCG giant HUL’s Skin portfolio with Fair and Lovely and Pond’s ?

 

What are the things that you are expected to achieve in your current job?

Fair & Lovely and Ponds are heritage brands with a few of their variants being a market leader in the category. The objective is to build mind measures and eventually gain market share.

Can you tell us about one mantra that you live by in your life?

While balancing work and family it is very important to be stress-free and realize that if something is not adding up to your life, start subtracting with a smile. I wake up each day with a feeling that I am a part of something bigger than myself, I am needed by the people who love me, and I have something better ahead. Always be kind to the people around you.

Yes, this is what makes me happy each day ?

 

What is that one thing you would like to change in and around your workplace if given a chance?

The negativity and ego people get along. This just spoils the work environment.
