Republic Bharat leads the Hindi News Category at #1 spot: BARC survey
In the survey conducted by Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), Republic Bharat leads the Hindi News Category and reaches the no 1 slot on back of strong, focused and investigative journalism in in Week 32. It not only delivered a sharp performance but successfully made a huge impact with the CBI for SSR campaign. For time long past, Hindi news channels have been sedentary and Republic Bharat indeed delivered with the promise to bring news back to Hindi-speaking homes in to the market.
When one looks at the BARC data, it becomes extremely clear who the reigning supreme channel both in English News Category and the Hindi News category (per the latest survey), and it is Republic TV, led by Arnab Goswami all the way .Republic Bharat has matched with its veteran competitors in the Hindi news market in terms of distribution and penetration both in rural and urban India.
Bharat’s extensive focus on Sushant’s Singh Rajput’s ongoing investigation, creating a massive impact with #CBIforSSR and #WarriersforSSR not only delivered blockbuster impressions on social media bringing it on #1 position but also played a massive role in catalyzing the whole movement altogether.
The channel’s prime show ‘Poochta Hai Bharat’ hosted by Arnab Goswami editor-in-chief of Republic Media Network, delivers a massive 23% market share. It definitely is a massive market share in a very competitive genre. It has been gaining traction ever since its launch. In the past week, the show garnered a 22.86 percent share and saw the highest growth with 172638 weekly GVTs [NCCS ABC M 15+ | HSM | Wk32’’20 | Weekdays | 1900-2000]. ‘Poochta Hai Bharat’ has got the largest market share compared to any leading show in their respective time band.
Placed in the second spot is Aaj Tak, which has recorded a weekly viewership of 168980(000), followed by TV9 Bharatvarsh at No. 3 with a gross viewership of 143963(000), while India TV and News18 India are placed in the fourth and fifth spot with a gross viewership of 143621(000) and 122885(000) respectively.
