Exclusive: Fanfight Assigns Media Mandate to DCMN
DCMN assigns a dedicated team in Gurugram to handle the account.
Fanfight, one of the leading fantasy sports website, has appointed DCMN to manage its media duties. Bindu Balakrishnan, Country Head India at DCMN will be leading this account. The agency’s Gurugram office has assigned a specialized team for the portal.
On the association, Bindu says, ‘DCMN is very happy to associate with FanFight in the next phase of their growth. We Indians are passionate about cricket, and fantasy cricket game category has seen tremendous growth in the country in the past couple of years. Fanfight with its great features and excellent user experience has already won many cricket lovers’ hearts and we want to take this up to the next level. With the cricket season just round the corner, the timing is perfect’.
The mandate is expected to serve two purposes- Branding (to build a top of mind recall for fantasy sports in India) and Performance (in terms of RoI and downloads).
Asking Bindu on how big is the account, she says, ‘Giving out the numbers is difficult. However, we are to see active participation since IPL is just round the corner’.
As a category, fantasy sports is quite big and emerging rapidly. Until now, the poker/ cards category was doing well. But with increased penetration of smartphones in India, the number of users are also on a rise, giving way to the popularity of fantasy sports.
